Ann M. Galles, age 74 of Remsen, IA passed away on Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 at Orange City Area Health System in Orange City, IA.  

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, IA with Fr. Andy Galles officiating, Fr. Timothy Pick, Fr. Tim Johnson concelebrating and Deacon Doug Heeren assisting. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Remsen, IA. Visitation with family present will be 4 - 7 p.m. on Friday, there will be a C.O.F. rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at church. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA. Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.  Funeral will be live streamed at www.fischfh.com

Ann was born May 20, 1948 in Le Mars, IA the daughter of Henry & Mildred (Nilles) Harpenau.  She attended school in Remsen and graduated from Remsen St. Mary’s High School in 1966.  After graduation she worked at K Products in Orange City, IA, Celebrity Apparel and American Bank both in Remsen.  

On Nov. 4, 1967 she married Larry Galles at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen, officiated by Fr. Leo Harpenau.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, church guild and Catholic Order of Foresters.  

She will be deeply missed by her husband Larry of Remsen; her children, Tom (Adrienne) Galles of Remsen, IA, Lisa (Kris) Zbylut of Papillion, NE; 9 grandchildren; her sisters, RoseMary Schilmoeller of Granville, IA, Carol Harpenau (Linda Leonard) of Omaha, NE; her in-laws, Veronica Harpenau, Ervin Ahlers, Pauline Harpenau all of Remsen, IA, Jim Gergeni of LeMars, IA, Roger (Donna) Galles, Jim (LaVonne) Galles, Pete (LaVonne) Galles, Ann (Jerry) Bohnenkamp, all of Remsen, IA; sister-in-law; Mary (Denny) Hansen of Stacy, MN and many nieces & nephews.

Ann will be welcomed home into heaven with open arms by her two children, Russ Galles & Amy Galles, her parents; Henry & Mildred Harpenau, in-law parents; Arnold & Coletta Galles, sister-in-law; Betty Galles, her sister; Jeanette Harpenau in infancy, siblings and in-law’s; Cloette & Daryl Schroeder, Jim & Mary Lea Harpenau, Paul Harpenau and Mary Lou (Harpenau) Gergeni, Denis Schilmoeller, JoAnn (Harpenau) Ahlers, Richard Harpenau, and Clarence Harpenau.

Casket bearers will be Terry Harpenau, Kenny Ahlers, Steve Schilmoeller, Nick Galles, Jason Bohnenkamp, Steve Galles, Mike Ricke, and Tony Schroeder.

C.O.F honorary bearers will be Jerry Braun, Don Konz, Mark Sudtelgte, Eric Harpenau, Mark Harpenau, and Al Harpenau.
