Betty M. Streff

Betty M. Streff, 55 years old, of Alton, IA, died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, At Orange City Area Health Systems Hospital in Orange City, IA. 
          Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton with Rev. Terry Roder officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Alton.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.  The family will be present from 4 to 6 p.m. with a vigil prayer service at 6 p.m., all at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
          Betty was born April 14, 1957, at LeMars, IA, the daughter of Clarence and Phyllis (Krier) Streff.  She was raised in Alton on the family farm & attended Sioux Center Community Special Education in Sioux Center, IA and Hope Haven in Rock Valley, IA. In 1990 she moved to Village North West in Sheldon where she excelled in her social living in a community waiver home and working at the North West Enterprises. She moved to Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen in May of 2010.
          Betty was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Betty was a devoted and loving daughter, a loyal fun loving sister and a special aunt to her nieces and nephews. She loved to dance, roller skate and bowl. She also loved purses and Mountain Dew. Betty lived and loved life with zest and touched many hearts. She will be in ours forever.
          Survivors include: four sisters & their husbands, Mary Ann and Dale Jobe of Neosho, MO, Patti and Ed Walsh of Sioux City, IA, Jane and Wayne Horkey of Alton, IA, and Bev and Marc Thoene of Alton, IA; one brother-in-law, Bill Schroeder and his wife Janys of Kingsley, IA; numerous nieces & nephews.
          Preceded by: her parents, a sister, Marge Schroeder, and a niece, Anna Thoene.
          Casket Bearers will be, Greg & Adam Schroeder, Mike & Luke Horkey, Britton Jobe, Jamie Worrell.
