Clover Sanow, 98, of Remsen, IA died Sunday, May 1, 2016, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.
Funeral Service will be Thursday, May 5, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen, with Pastor Dennis Martens officiating. Burial will follow in the Remsen Community Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday morning at the church. Services have been entrusted to the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument of Remsen.
Clover was born on April 8, 1918 in Sioux City, IA, to Perry and Clover (Moss) Reese. Mrs. Reese died due to kidney poisoning. Charles and Ella Woodall took Clover as an infant to their loving home in rural Marcus, IA, and raised her as their own.
On April 18, 1936, Clover married Lester Sanow in Sioux City, IA. The couple lived on a farm south of Marcus until 1966 when they moved to Remsen and lived in a home with running water for the first time. Clover was a house wife and mother. She was also an aide and kitchen help at the Happy Siesta for 14 years. Lester died in 2000.
Clover was best known for her love of music and her ability to play the piano. She began to play at three and could play with two hands by the age of five. She considered this talent a gift from God that she loved to share with others. She volunteered her time playing music in the local area for many years. She was the president of the Senior Citizens Club for many years and also a lifelong member of the American Legion Auxiliary of LeMars, IA.
Survivors include; two sons: Roger (Pamela) Sanow, of Remsen, and Jeff (Rosie) Sanow, of Cherokee, IA. Sanow; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren
Preceded by: her parents, her husband Lester Sanow, her sons Larry (Peggy) Sanow, Ron Sanow, grandson Scott Sanow, two great grandchildren in infancy, her biological siblings Edith, May, Frieda, Alen and Paul Reese, And her adoptive siblings Florence Kirchoff, Clarence Woodall, Bernice Schlenger, Blanch Weimer, Laura Garlow, Edna Eberly and Lois Mott.
Casket Bearers will be, Cory & Robin Weiler, Melissa & Todd Krukow, Tim & Traci Sanow.
