Harlan F. Klingbeil, age 84 of LeMars, IA passed away Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019 at Holy Spirit Retirement Home in Sioux City, IA.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS in Remsen. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery rural Marcus, IA. Visitation with family present will be Monday from 4-6 p.m. at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen. Visitation will resume 1 hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Christ Lutheran Church LCMS.
Harlan was born Jan. 30, 1935 in Remsen, IA., the son of Fred & Nancy (Miller) Klingbeil. He was baptized and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen. He graduated from Remsen High School in 1953. He then went on to graduate from WIT with an Applied Science Degree. On Jan. 17, 1955 he entered the US Army and served until he was honorably discharged on Jan. 9, 1957.
He married Beverly Joan Timmerman on August 4, 1962 at Christ Lutheran Church. They lived and raised their family in LeMars. He worked at Albertsons, which later became Sioux Tools where he retired in 1997. He then worked at Walmart until his final retirement in 2017.
Harlan was a lifelong member of Christ Lutheran Church where he was a Sunday school teacher and a sponsor for Walther League. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and helping his son Tyrone with his various animals.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly of Le Mars, IA; daughter, Lucinda Anderson of Laurens, IA; son, Tyrone Klingbeil of Helmet, CA
He was preceded in death by, his parents; sisters, Evelyn (Leroy) Letsche, Lois (Darrell) Franklin and Son-in-law, Lee Anderson.
Casket bearers will be Kenneth Franklin, Daniel Franklin, Vernon Letsche, Martin Letsche and Leo Eischen.
