Kathy Rollins

Kathy Rollins, 58 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.           Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 7, 2011, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen.  Visitation will be anytime after 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011.  There will be a parish rosary at 3 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen, IA.        Kathy was born July. 9, 1953, at LeMars, IA, the daughter of Frances & Elizabeth (Gotto) Singer.  Kathy was raised the first nine years of her life on a farm south of Remsen until 1962 when they moved into Remsen.  She attended St. Mary’s High School, graduating in 1971.  After high school Kathy married and worked for a few years in LeMars at Montgomery Ward.  In May of 1972 she was involved in a car accident in Minnesota where her father was killed and she became a quadriplegic.  She resided in Remsen.        On June 6, 1976 she married Kevin Rollins at Elk Point, SD.  Their marriage was blessed and they were remarried on Mar. 31, 1984, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen.          Kathy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church & church guild.  She was Treasurer and did books for the Ambulance since 1985, she loved being involved with that.  Kathy enjoyed family, friends, country western music and all her pets.        Survivors include; her husband, Kevin of Remsen; one son, Brian & Jenn of South Sioux City, NE; two granddaughters, Aalyiah & Grace of South Sioux City, NE;  two sisters-in-law, Barb Ludwigs & Donna Laughton both of LeMars, IA.  Several nieces and nephews.        Preceded by: her parents, two brothers, Eddie & Alvin Singer.  Her father & mother-in-law, Lester and Rita Rollins.         Casket Bearers will be: Butch Snyder, Terry VanWyhe, Dave Jensen, Kevin Gramlow, Todd Trobaugh, Bob Singer.        Honorary Bearers will be, Shane Phillips, Paul Jaminet, David Singer, Zack VanWyhe, Joel Rollins, Caleb Robinson.
