Larry Miller, 57 years old, of Remsen, IA died unexpectedly Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy and Rev. Terry Roder officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014. There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m. and a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. all at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Larry was born on May 15, 1956, at LeMars, IA the son of Glenn & Lorraine (Freking) Miller. He was raised and educated in the Remsen area and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1974.
On June 21, 1980, he married Donna Rupp at Maryhill. The couple made their home on a farm near Remsen where they raised two sons.
Larry was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, RC Skyhawks. He enjoyed to fish, look at eagles and loved nature. He also loved to build and fly radio controlled airplanes. He was looking forward to his first grandchild to arrive soon.
Survivors include: his wife Donna of Remsen; two sons, Chris (Michaelle) of Sioux City, Andy (Diana) of Maquoketa, IA; his mother, Lorraine Miller of Marcus, IA; one brother, Dick (Sue) Miller of Remsen; one sister, Jean (Pat) Zenk of Alton, IA; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Rupp of Cherokee, Cathy Rupp of Remsen; one brother-in-law, Allan (Jean) Rupp of Cherokee; his mother-in-law, Celesta Rupp of Cherokee; several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by, his father Glenn, one brother Joseph in infancy, his father-in-law, Wilmer Rupp.
Pallbearers will be Jeff and Jackie Arens, Tim Miller, Lindsay and Scott Rupp, Mike Nothem.
