Luella M. Klein

Luella M. Klein, 86 years old, of Granville, IA, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars, IA. 
        Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville with Rev. Richard Ball officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Granville.  Visitation will be anytime after 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010.  There will be a parish rosary at 5 p.m., and vigil prayer service at 7 p.m., all at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Granville.
        Luella was born Jan. 16, 1924, at rural Hospers, IA, the daughter of Dominic & Petronella (Van Burgen) Penning.  She was raised & educated in Hospers.  
        On Nov. 18, 1941 she married Lawrence Klein at Hospers, IA.  They made their home at northwest rural Granville where they farmed until 1971. Lawrence died Oct. 15, 1971.  Luella then moved into Granville in 1973 where she remained until moving to Plymouth Manor in LeMars, IA on Feb. 4, 2009. 
        She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church & church guild, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America.  Luella loved dancing, quilting, baseball games, gardening, watching birds & praying. 
        Survivors include; Two daughters, Mildred Sanny of LeMars, IA, Byrlea Budden & her husband Ron of Granville, IA;  Three sons Jake Klein & his wife Ellen of Alton, IA. Mark Klein & Cindy of Granville, IA, Paul Klein of Sacramento, CA; 11)Grandchildren, 29)Great-grandchildren; 1) Sister, Lucille Bueltel of Sioux City, IA; Three sisters-in-law, Sister Teresa (Helen) Klein OSF of Dubuque, IA, Mary Ann Penning & Kitty Penning both of Granville.
        Preceded by: her parents, One son Dominic Klein, Two brothers Julius & Adrian Pennning, One son-in-law, Gerald Sanny, Two sisters-in-law, Ann Penning & her husband Edward, Sister Oda (Katherine) Klein OSF; Three brothers-in-law, Nick Klein, Leo Klein, Henry Klein & his wife Evelyn.   
        Casket Bearers will be,  Craig Budden, Jason Sanny, Doug & Brian Klein, Ton Kuiper, Darrin Recker.
        Honorary Bearer will be, Larry Klein.
