Marjorie A. Barber

Marjorie A. Barber, 78 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at her home in Remsen, IA.
      Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 1, 2011, at Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen with Pastor Dennis Martens officiating.  Visitation will be anytime after 9 a.m. until service time on Monday, Aug. 1, 2011 at the Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
      Marge was born Dec. 21, 1932, in Akron, IA, the daughter of Lester & Arvilla (Oakes) Parker. Marge was raised in Akron and graduated from Akron High School in 1951.  After high school she worked in retail in Sioux City for several years.
      On April 29, 1970 she married Jerry Barber at Elkpoint, SD.  Marge and Jerry traveled for a few years before moving to Remsen in 1989 where they owned and operated the Remsen Café until retiring in 1997.
      Survivors include:  her husband Jerry of Remsen; Son, Russell Anderson of St. Paul, MN; Son, David Anderson & his wife Kelly of Sioux City, IA; Daughter, Diane Anderson of Sioux City, IA; Son, Mathew Anderson & his wife Sandy of Remsen, IA;  Daughter, Patricia Wurth & her husband Ron of Remsen, IA; One stepdaughter, Marcie Biggerstaff & her husband Jeff of Sioux City, IA; Three stepsons, Mark Barber & his wife Misty of Sioux Falls, SD, Mike Barber of Katy, TX, David Barber of Sioux City, IA; 11) Grandchildren, 1) Great-grandson; Two sisters, Marilyn Bonderson & her husband Darrell of LeMars, IA, Maxine Buck & her husband Earl of Rapid City, SD; One brother, Ronald Parker & his wife Jean of Sioux City, IA; Three sisters-in-law, Freida Parker of Seattle, WA, Linda Parker & Donna Parker both of Sioux City.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Darrell, Russell & Larry Parker.
