Randall C. Polson, 69, of Marcus, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at the Heartland Care Center in Marcus. Funeral services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at the Earnest – Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus. Pastor Jon Harvey and Pastor Mark Leeds will officiate. Burial will follow at the Marcus Amherst Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Randall Craig Polson was born on December 11, 1953, in Cherokee, Iowa, the son of Langdon and Mary Elaine (Haight) Polson. He grew up on a farm near Marcus. Randy graduated from Marcus High School in 1972. He furthered his education at the University of South Dakota at Springfield. He earned a Bachelors’ Degree in Diesel Mechanics with a minor in Psychology.
On August 18, 1984, Randy and Teresa Harvey were united in marriage in Cherokee, Iowa. They made their home in Marcus where they raised their two boys. Randy worked for Bushlow’s International Harvester dealer as a mechanic for several years. He also worked at Kmart and as a cook at Happy Chef and Danny’s in Cherokee. Along with farming throughout the years, Randy most recently worked at The Junction in Marcus. He enjoyed working on cars and was in the process of restoring a 1937 Pontiac.
Grateful to have shared his life is his wife, Teresa Polson; two sons, Zach Polson and Logan Polson; and a brother and his wife, Gene and Vivian Polson all of Marcus, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stillborn set of twins and an infant set of twins, Graeme Michael and Lucas Jon Polson; and a sister, Karol.
