Timothy Joseph Weiler, 56 years old, of Remsen, IA, died Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, MN cancer free.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen with Rev. William McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Remsen. The visitation with family present will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 18, 2017. There will be a parish rosary and vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. all at the church. Services have been entrusted to Fisch Funeral Home & Monument in Remsen.
Tim was born June 23, 1961 in Le Mars, IA, to Marvin and Octavia (Stoffel) Weiler. He was raised and educated in Remsen and graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School in Remsen in 1979. After graduating he continued farming with his father and brother. Over the years he worked at JL Excavating in Hinton, IA, Ruhland Nursery in LeMars, IA, and for the past 11 years he worked at Barry’s Electric in Remsen.
Aug. 25, 1984 he married Lorie Harms at St. John’s Lutheran Church in LeMars, IA. To this union they had 3 daughters and 2 sons (The Weiler Wolfpack).
He was a member of Remsen St. Mary's Catholic Church. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers.
Tim is survived by his wife, Lorie of Remsen, his children; Kayla (Bob) Rohmiller of LeMars, Kendra (Ben) Klein of Remsen, Kelsey (Chad) Schlesser of Sioux City,IA, Chad (Taylor) Weiler of Remsen, Cody (Michaela) Weiler of Rock Valley,IA; seven grandchildren, Mayci, Makenna, Maddison, Lillian, Alexa, Bennett and Camden; six sisters & seven brothers; Connie (Ron) Galles of Remsen, Marvin Jr.(Donna) of Ankeny, IA, Cindy Weiler of LeMars, IA, Bob (Gayla) of LeMars, IA, Rick (Mary) of Struble, IA, Jay (Ellen) of Dundee, OR, Denise Hanson & Steve Grant of Marcus, IA, Janet (Rob) Hartman of Salem, SC, Chris of LeMars, IA, Sharon Weiler of Lafayette, OR, Mike Weiler & Sue Cook of Remsen, IA, Mona (Scott) Boylan of LeMars, IA, Jeff (Darla) of Remsen; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Susan at child birth, his father-in-law, Lanny Harms, brother-in-law, Tim Krier.
Casket bearers will be Mark Galles, Jeremy Weiler, Trent Weiler, Jason Weiler-Prieksat, Nathan Weiler, Brooke Hanson.
